Friday, October 13, 2006: Curious George paid a visit to the Dr. B.L. Perry, Jr. Branch Library (2817 S. Adams St.) on Friday, October 13 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. He helped celebrate the Florida Department of Health's Health Literacy Month: Read for Health with an immunization clinic, informational booths, children's activities, health, nutrition, and fitness demonstrations and more. And Curious George passed out 100 free copies of Curious George Goes to the Hospital.
Saturday & Sunday, December 2 & 3, 2006: Visit LVLC's booth at this year's Alternative Christmas Market at John Wesley United Methodist Church (located at 1689 Old St. Augustine Road). Thursday, March 28, 2008: GED Info Workshop - A Tutor in-service workshop is scheduled for Thursday, March 28 in Program Room A , from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. This workshop is designed to provide tutors with an overview of the GED tests, eligibility requirements, scoring of the GED tests, and specific content of the GED tests. Saturday, April 5, 2008: Health Fair - The Big Bend Farm Worker Alliance is sponsoring a health fair at the St. Eugene Catholic Chapel Join us for food, music, and fun for the children! Several area agencies will be on hand to provide info and the following free services: Blood sugar and blood pressure screenings; Body Mass Index, % body fat, waist and hip ratio measurements; Health education, advice and counseling. 3:00-7:00 p.m., St. Eugene Catholic Chapel, 701 Gamble St.
